| 1. Loans and advances for use in Hong Kong refer to loans that have direct impact on the level of economic activity in Hong Kong. This is usually determined by whether the loan is made available or disbursed in Hong Kong, and by the principal business location of the customer. |
| 2. The December 2018 figures for loans for use in/outside Hong Kong have been restated to reflect authorized institutions' reclassification of working capital loans. As reclassified loan data before December 2018 are not available, quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year growth rates of loans for use in/outside Hong Kong (including their sub-components) can be calculated based on the data without such reclassification, as shown in worksheet "T3.4.3(old)". |
